 We
are pleased to be offering both the nasal and injectable
flu vaccine to our patients again this year.
The
flu vaccine this year does contain the H1N1 strain,
so your child will not need to get an additional vaccine
to protect against H1N1. Children 6 months to less than
2 years of age will have to get the flu shot. If your
child has chronic medical disease, asthma, congenital
heart disease, immunodeficiency or rheumatologic disease,
they will get the flu shot. If your child has wheezed
or used albuterol in the past 12 months, they will get
the flu shot. Healthy children 2 years and older can
get the nasal flu vaccine. If you have questions or
concerns, please call the office.
